May 4: Homework 4 solutions are now available.
April 28: The quiz this week will be on Wednesday instead of Friday; this will be the last quiz of the semester. Next Monday, our last day of class, will be an in class review session for the final exam.
April 23: Homework 4 is available; it will be due next Friday, May 1, by 11:59pm.
April 22: The final exam will be Wednesday, May 6, from 8-10am in the same room as our class meets. Please let me know by the end of the week if you have a conflict.
April 16: Program 7 is out; it will be due Friday, April 24 at 11:59pm.
March 31: Programs 5 and 6 are out; this is a two part assignment that you may work on with a partner. The first half (program 5) is due Wednesday, April 8, and the second half is due Wednesday, April 15.
March 27: The second midterm will be in Ritter Hall room 30, at 7:30pm on Monday, March 30.
March 17: Homework 3 is now available; it will be due on Thursday, March 26.
March 16: Our quiz this week will be on Wednesday, not Friday. There will be no class on Friday.
March 3: Program 4 is out; it will be due the Wednesday after we get back from break.
Feb 27: Since I lost track of time today, today's quiz will be given at the end of class on Monday, March 2. Sorry for the change of plans!
Feb. 24: For those of you who missed the announcements in class, program 3 is due next Monday, March 2, at 11:59pm. You are welcome to work with a partner on this program.
Feb. 13: Midterm 1 will be next Friday, Feb. 20, in class. There will be a review session Wednesday in class. Here is a sample midterm from last semester for you to practice with; everything (except perhaps problem 1) is similar to what you can expect on your midterm.
Feb 9: Homework 2 is out; it is due on Monday, Feb. 16.
Jan 28: There was no class today due to snow; I will also be leaving my office hours about 20 minutes early to give myself time to navigate the roads! Email me with questions or to set up a time tomorrow to meet.

Jan 14: If you want to connect to the linux lab machines from home, you need to download and install the NX client. It's a free download, and version for windows, mac, linux, and solaris are listed under "NX Client Products" on the page I link to above. Make sure you are connecting to the machine turing.slu.edu, on port 22. Email me or check out the department's instructions if you have questions.
Jan 14: For those of you who don't have your textbook yet, Chapter 3, the current chapter we are covering, is available online for download.
